Access Log Manager
What's the purpose of the Access Log Manager? What sort of information will it provide?
An access log features a record of all the files which have been requested by the visitors while surfing around your site. The list is detailed, so in case you have a webpage with 2 embedded images, for instance, all of the three files will be in the log, not only the page. An access log usually includes the date, the OS, the Internet browser and the IP address for each and every file in human-readable form, so you can get a more complete picture about the most well liked files on your site. The log, that is also commonly called "raw data", is an addition to the web data which you commonly get with a hosting account, not an alternative. A good example why you may need such a log is if you intend to use some software on your computer to prepare a report about the website’s functionality, but you do not want to use the conventional graphs and tables which come with the server-generated website statistics.
Access Log Manager in Web Hosting
Our custom Hepsia CP has a section focused on various logs and the access logs are one of them. As soon as you sign in to your web hosting account and take a look at this section, you'll find a list of all the domain names and subdomains you have. All it takes to allow the generation of access logs is to press a button which will be available next to each domain/subdomain. If the option is active, you shall see a download link together with the file size so far, so you shall be able to save the file to your personal computer and view it or process it with some application. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect instantaneously, so if you don't need one, you could stop it with just a mouse click from the same exact section of the Control Panel. You shall still have the ability to access the already developed content by simply clicking on the Download link.
